I have a 97 ES that the parking light bulb burned out. I would rather change this myself(DIYr), than take it in the shop. But I do not see an access to the bulb. There's a tab on top that's screwed down. And after unscrewing it the lens still do not come out. This is the left front light. If anyone knows how to do this, please advise me. I think it is the same as Toyota Camry of the same year. Please Help.

I recently purchases a 2001 ES300 in January and noticed that when I took it to the car wash there would be water inside the car right above each of the four windows. I always make sure the windows are up and that the sunroof is closed. Before I take the problem to the dealer I was wondering if anyone else may have had a similar experience. If so how did you fix this problem?

My Lexus dealer replaced my parking light bulb under warranty while the car was in for a routine oil change. If your car is still under warranty - check out what your dealer's service dept. has to say.

    Hope this helps.

Some car washes are pretty ferocious....car windows are not designed for that level of wind and water "violence", ie. a miniature hurricane condition inside a little tunnel. I doubt the dealer would do anything for you. If you noticed this is a normal rainstorm, different story, of course.

I had the similar problem with the 98 ES 300. I also couldn't find anyway to remove the light
assembly such that I can replace the bulb.

Right now, I am looking for the shop manual or Haynes manual, but no luck. The car is alreaddy out of warranty. Going back to dealer is not an option for me. It seems to me that Lexus doesn't like owner touch the car (not even change light bulb!) My Volvo 850 is much easier to maintain by myself, due to the avaliability of shop manual, Haynes manual and newsgroup.

I tried to replace the burn-out parking light on my es300 too. It is correct that Lexus does not want anyone to mess with the parking light or anything inside the lexus (not even changing the coolant system yourself!). Finally I took it to the dealer and the cost was not so bad - it was .5 hr labor + replacing the bulb ($2.00) for a total about $40 bucks.
