Mazda CX-5 Nav and Phone

I've had my CX-5 since February and have racked up 14,000 miles on it, the past couple of weeks I've been having a problem with the sound on the Sat Nav and phone being muffled,

Its so muffled i cant hear the person on the other end of the phone, dont get me wrong its loud just completely muffled,

The radio works perfectly,

I've reset back to Factory settings on both the cars settings and the TomToms and also taken the fuse out and put it back in for a complete reset,

what am i missing?

I am in the market for a compact SUV. I currently have a Infiniti G37x which I love. I think the GPS in the Infiniti is very good, and I often use it as a digital map. I've heard mixed things about the Tom Tom system in the CX-5. I would very much appreciate input from those folks out there who use the built in Tom Tom on a daily basis. Is it really that bad? Whatever details and experiences you can provide would be great.
