2012 Fusion cargo net

Our last car had a stretchable cargo net in the trunk, which my wife found very useful. We just bought a 2012 Fusion and talked the dealer into throwing in a cargo net. The problem is that the instructions that come with it are virtually useless.

It appears that you have to cut a couple of slots in the trunk lining, and then you screw some little plastic clips they give you onto a couple of screws that protrude forward from the tail light assembly on each side. It looks like this is going to put a crimp in the trunk lining fabric. It also appears that the net is only attached at the top. On our former car, it was attached at both the top and bottom, and it worked well.

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with the installation of this net. My salesman says to bring it by the dealer and he will install it for me, but I'm not too eager to let him loose in my trunk with a knife trying to install something that he may or may not have any knowledge about. I would appreciate any suggestions from anyone who has made this installation work. Thanks.
