Lexus ES 300h or Toyota Avalon Limited

Help! My wife wants the Lexus and I do agree that it's a beautiful car. I can't seem to find $4k (if you price them with similar specs) of difference.

Any thoughts?

    Same boat here, wife likes the cache of Lexus, but the Avalon imho has better lines, is bigger and more economical. . . its the badging that she's fixated on I guess. . .

    For what it's worth, I've also heard that the Avalon has a better ride.

    If I remember right, the Lexus has a longer warranty ???. Also, if I remember right, the Lexus is made in Japan whilst the Avalon is built in KY----if that matters.

    If you have to ask, get the Toyota. You pay a premium for luxury makes. Spec for spec you will always get better value from the mainstream brand. If you're even considering it, then the status of the luxury brand is not critical to you. So why pay extra for it? If you like the Toyota, and don't need to be seen around town in a Lexus, get the Toyota.

    Anyone gotten a good Avalon HYbrid lease recently? I'm in So. California and trying to convince wife the Avalon is the better deal. . . thanks
