Does anyone know the residual and money factor for the 2014 SEL Premium. I'm a potential first time leaser and trying to my bearings on how everything works. Mainly interested in the 1.8T, but also the V6 depending on the price difference. Not sure what I should expect as far as what a sign then drive lease would cost.

Just leased one and thought this was a pretty great deal.

Looks like dealers are getting aggressive on car pricing. I think this week may be a good time to pull the trigger. Can anyone provide the lease numbers for these cars:

2013 Passat TDI SE (manual transmission) 3yr/12K miles
2014 Passat TDI SE (manual transmission) 3yr/12K miles
2013 Passat V6 SEL Premium (DSG) 3yr/12K miles

I really like the TDI, but the lease cash on the 13 V6 is really attractive. Thanks for the help.

I was offered a 2014 Passat 1.8 TSI SEL with $700 out of pocket and $398 a month for 36 months with 12k /year. This includes trading in my 2011 jetta with 20k miles and 6 months left on my curent lease of $345/month. Is this a good deal?

Those numbers expire today, though. It will be a few days before we get the new numbers.

Perfect thank you. Was actually able to get this info from a dealer today.

Here is what I plan on doing and where I am at with them right now. I currently have a 2011 jetta 2.5 sel with 32k miles on it. I owe $2100 on the loan for the jetta. They offered $13.5k on trade, 2100 of which will pay off car, the rest in the form of a check written out to me.

They offered me a 2014 TDI SEL for $31,100
tax 1,100
ttl&fees 242
total $32,242

Was told 12k miles 56% residual, .00090 MF. With nothing down other than first payment of $420.

I cant find a decent lease calc online and not to sure how to calculate this. I've purchased many cars in the past but this will be my first lease. Does this seem like a good deal?

To calculate a lease, you need the MSRP of the vehicle. Seems like you have the rest of the numbers.

For the 1.8T SE?

.00007 MF and 51% residual. There is $2500 of lease bonus cash on this model.

Are they bumping the money factor to compensate for waiving the security deposit? If so, that's a bad deal.. make the security deposit and insist on the base money factor.

Let's look at the example right above yours.

$27485 MSRP

$23,500 Selling price

.00007 MF and 49% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr lease.

We'll allow $1000 for acq.fee, doc fees title/registration, etc, etc...for a CAP cost of $24,500.

That's $309/mo. plus tax. (you may have to make a security deposit, along with 1st payment at signing). Of course, you'll also have to factor in 15K extra miles... If the residual reduction is $0.15/mi (and, I'm just guessing), that will lower the residual by $2250.. That would up your payment to $371/mo, plus tax.. If the reduction is $0.10/mi., the payment would be $350/mo.

I'm in Cherry Hill New Jersey.

What should be my leasing term targets for a 2014 Passat Sport be for 12,000 mi per yr.

I want my Cap Reduction to be as close to 0 as possible.

I am currently leasing a Honda Accord Special Edition not that this matters to the VW guys but I'm very happy. Just wondering if they will be competitive to a Honda Accord Sport.

No Passat "Sport" model, that I know of..

4 engine choices and 4 trim levels.. You'll have to narrow it down for residuals and money factors.

The below comment is directly from the Edmunds Review. Does anyone know which engine and trim level this is? Thanks.

If you look on VW's website, it appears to be a variation of an SE model with the 1.8T engine..

If that is indeed the case, then the MF is .00007 and the residual is 51% for 36mo, 12K/yr.

FYI Guys,

Anyone leasing any Volkswagen or Audi (same manufacture) if you try to sell the car at lease end or want out early you can't. Only these two companies (that i know of) give you a negotiated price at lease end (which is the remaining balance after the residual) which is only valid for you. Now if you try to terminate the lease early or another dealer attempts to buy out the lease to get you into a new one, the dealer or person will be paying retail/true market value of the car (not the remaining balance of the car when you trade it in at lease end) and you will always be upside down regardless how perfect and low mileage the car has. Ex: leased a Volkswagen Passat had 5 months remaining and the pay off was $16,000 went to a dealer to get another car (decided to go for Lexus) Lexus called the bank from which i was financing the car got quoted $18,000. Which is pathetic to me and sad I was not told of this, But the salesman from Lexus helped me paid the remaining 5 months i owed and left at the dealer parked, since it couldnt get the full pay off, after the 5 months are up he will turning it in for me, it worked out in the end but a head ache non the less. So really do your research guys before getting into anything. any questions inbox, Would not mind answering any questions you may have. (this is just scraping the surface on this story) HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

Hello, these posts are very helpful, thank you! I have a dealer in FL that is advertising a 2014 Passat S (diesel, manual) for $99/mo. $2999 down not including $695 dealer fee and tax,tag,title. It seems like a decent deal. 24 month lease and only 10k/miles per year. Can I negotiate better terms or does this seem solid? I need more miles for sure. Thank you in advance

Ads like that are gimmicks to obscure the true monthly cost of the vehicle. Ask them for a quote, with nothing due at signing, except the 1st payment.... I'm going to guess you'll be around $300/mo. Another $25-$30/mo, if you need 15K/yr..

The down payment is 3000 includes acq fee, dmv fee, tax, and everything. Monthly payment is $210 after tax. The price also includes a Lease Excess Wear Protection, which worth ~$1000. Can I negotiate better terms or does this seem a good deal? Thanks!

While the payment quoted of $210 sounds pretty good, can we get a full breakdown of where the $3000 is going? Any cap cost reduction included with that? Also, do you have the selling price and the money factor used in those calculations? There might be some savings to be had.
