Well presuming you buy an engine that's the same year as your car, thereby eliminating most or all electronics hassles, then it's a matter of fluids, belts, hoses, timing belt (if required), motor mounts---you know, the things that one might want to replace just because it's such a great opportunity to do so. So if "your man" suggests doing some things "while I'm in there" you might heed that. The two of you could sit down and do an inventory list and you could hurry the job along by doing some of the shopping for him, if he doesn't mind losing the profit on the parts.

looking in to installing a used engine in my 03 Altima can any one please tell me other than the engine what other parts or stuff im going need to buy like to know this before I take it to the guy and compare what he's going to asks for. thank you all thanks for taking the time to help even if it was not what I wanted to hear.
Hey need a little help here am going to have a new engine put in my 03 Altima 2.5 have no idea what I should get together for the job. I know the guy doing the job will know but I would like to know also. before he tells me what to be getting. I was a welder for 20 years and don't know [non-permissible content removed] about engine work can change my own oil and plugs and stuff but that's it. thanks appreciate any help thanks
