Ford Fusion transmission not shifting to overdrive

I can drive about 55 but no faster and it shows about 3600 rpms but won't shift into the next gear. The wrench symbol stays on, is it just a blown solonoid like in the Focuses? Every now and then it will rev higher than normal going from 1st to 2nd gear. Any suggestions?

    End up finding resolution to this? Having same problem.

    The light is telling you to scan for a trouble code. so........? Let us know what # you come up with.

    Could be a fuse, the o/d switch, a solenoid, or....well, let's not go there just yet.

    Changed out my transmission. FRN5 out of a 07 Ford Fusion 2.3 litre. Shifts fine from first to 4rth. Won’t shift into fifth. Revs at 3000 rpm. Switched all solenoids from the used transmission. To the replacement. Still does the same thing. Won’t shift into 5th.
