Lease on VW Passat SE.

I'm in Southern CA and have been offered the Passat SE at $199 (plus tax) and 3K drive off (includes everything but tax). MSRP $27,030.00

I've also been offered the S model for $168 (plus tax) with $2488 down plus fees.
MSRP: $23,085

Are these good deals?

It's impossible to evaluate a lease deal with the selling price of the car. But, comparisons are easier if you avoid big downpayments.

Yes... 2.5L SE or 1.8T SE? Length and mileage allowance on the lease?

On the surface, those look like very good deals, but need a little more detail.

On the S it's 24/months 10k per yr

Just got this quote on a 2014 Passat 1.8T SE w/ sunroof. Wondering if it sounds like a fair deal ?
MSRP 27705.00 Sale price 26820.00 $1044.00 out of pocket for bank fee and DMV, Dealer picking up last 3 Audi payments of $435.00, told me money factor is .0006 , not sure what the residual is. 36 month, 12 K for $340.00 month

On the SE, the monthly would be $253/mo.+tax, with no CAP cost reduction. Out of the $3000, you have acq.fee, title/license/doc fee and 1st payment... That's about $1200 total... Use the other $1800 for downpayment and the monthly drops to $203/mo.. I'd say your $199/mo. looks good..

See the example just above.. similar car, similar price.. $3000 out of pocket and $199/mo.+ tax... Looks like a lot better deal. Of course, I don't know your state or tax rate.

Be assured that you are paying for those three payments, one way or the other...

Looking at a 36 month lease, 10k miles on a 1.8 SE with a $26965 MSRP in NJ. $321 a month with just 1st month due at signing. Good deal? Other option includes nav at $347 a month.

.00019 MF and 49% residual. $2750 lease cash.

@kyfdx, purchase price was $3250 off of MSRP with the $2750 in lease rebate for July and a $500 "haul back" credit. SE without sunroof was $321 a month with only 1st month due at signing everything else rolled in, also looking at with sunroof and awaiting that price. Deciding between this and one other option this weekend. What do you think of those deals (in NJ)?

With $3250 off, I get a payment of right at $300/mo.+ tax.. which is pretty close to $321/mo. With a $2750 incentive, I might shoot for a little more off, though... Another $500 off would drop the payment by $15./mo.

Cool, thanks, he was saying at that price it was close to his cost. I posed the same ask to 4 other local dealers and asked them to beat it with my urgency in wanting to wrap this up this weekend.
