Sorry I should have noted this is for 2015 model year, not 2014, in case that makes a difference. (did not see a 2015 leasing questions forum).

2.5i Premium: .00165 MF and 65% residual.

2.0XT Premium: .00150 MF and 64% residual.

Not exactly - 2.5i CVT is 64% and .00160.

Using the mfs & rvs you provided me with plus the following MSRPs & selling prices:

2.5i
MSRP $24,465
Selling Price $23,254
Lease Payment Including 6.35% Tax = $203.67

2.5i Premium
MSRP $26,445
Selling Price $24,906
Payment Including Tax = 301.84

2.0 XT Premium
MSRP $29,345
Selling Price $27,540
Payment Including Tax = $332.65

Could a 2.5i really be close to $100 per month cheaper than a 2.5i Premium?

Practical me says go with the 2.5i & save the $1,440 over the term of the lease. It is a pretty decent car for about $300 per month. The other me (the one that traded in the TSX for the BMW) says that the $40 per month spread is $10 per week of cheap entertainment:) We are going to a friend's BBQ on Saturday who has an XT, so I'm going to have to take it for a spin around the block.

2015 2.5 LTD .00150 MF and 66% residual.

Don't see a LTD trim for the XT. Premium is .00150 MF and 65% residual.

@kyfdx‌ Sorry...meant XT Touring. I was quoted the XT Touring with eyesight & nav, MSRP of $36,935 at invoice of $34,122 with MF .00135 & 62% residual for 36/10k. Payment of $461 with taxes & fees all rolled in (lease in TX). 42mo/10k at .00120MF & still 62% residual bringing the payment down to $398/mo with all TTL & fees rolled in. Sound about right?

6. Only thing due at signing is first month payment--in this case $398. I haven't actually been into the dealer yet to see a breakdown of fees. Hoping to get that via email this morning once they open. FYI for those unfamiliar with TX leases, we have to pay tax on the full sale price of the vehicle, not just the depreciation value, so in this case 6.25% on top of $34122. I'm calculating about $500 in fees to bring the monthly payment up to $398/month.

On a 42 month, 10K/yr lease, the residual should be 58%. 62% is the 36mo, 10K/yr residual. The .00120 MF is correct. Check the residual with your dealer.

This being the first year I've ever really looked into the Forester's...is the XT residual always quite a bit lower than the naturally aspirated version?

Surprisingly (and I had to look twice to confirm), no.

For example, the 36/15 residual on the 2.5 Premium is 56%. The 36/15 residual on the 2.0XT Premium is .... 56%.

In fact, the XT would be cheaper as it has a lower money factor (.00035 vs. .00058).

Oops, you are totally correct. Looked at the wrong document.

The XT Premium residual is 1% less than the 2.5i Premium. XT Touring is 4% less.

While you're looking at the XT #'s, does Subaru do 39 month leases? If so, I'd be interested in seeing the #'s for XT Premium & XT Touring for 39mo/10k. Does eyesight/nav matter to the residual and/or MF? Located in TX if that matters.

Subtract 2% for 39mo. Nav and eyesight do impact residuals. I've been quoting numbers without either.

.00135 MF and 60% residual. On the XT Touring, Eyesight and NAV have no effect on the numbers..

I'm having trouble consolidating the #'s posted, so wanted to confirm I had the following #'s correct (in TX if it matters)--these are all for 2015's.
1. XT Touring 36/10k = 62% & .00135 MF
2. XT Touring 39/10k = 60% & .00135 MF
3. XT Premium 36/10k = 64% & .0015 MF
4. XT Premium 39/10k = 62% & .0015 MF

Looking for MF, residual and possible monthly payment for Forester Premium in NH. Looking for 36 month, 12k/yr and according to TrueCar - selling price should be around $24,891. Also I know its not advised but planning on $1200 down payment and $4400 in trade (completely planning on buying out the car at the end of the lease)

Nope... MF and residual are make/model and term specific, but MSRP does not change the numbers.

Hi there! I am wondering if it is possible for me to find a lease for $300 per mo for the Subaru Forester 2015 2.5i Premium.

I live in NJ.

Here is a quote I received:

MSRP: $27,790.00
Adjusted Price after discount: $25,812.00

They showed me another sheet that I "couldn't" take home with me with these lines. *I did not ask for the eye sight, mirror package, or wheel lock kit but it was on this sheet:

All-weather Package and Eye Sight: $1080.00
Mirror Package: $274
Wheel Lock Kit: $35
All weather Floor Mats: $46
Standard Destination Charge: $850.00
Negotiated Selling Price or Net Cap Cost: $25,812

12,000 Miles
36 month Term

$0 down
Taxable Fees: $595
Documentation Fee: $229
Tax: $854.28

Net Price: $27,791,48

Money Factor: .00165

They are giving me a price of $357/mo for this lease. Does this sound right?
I am wondering why they are charging me a line item for the all-weather package when I was told this comes with the premium model? They said they were "throwing in the eye sight" which I know is not normally a part of the premium model as well and I did not request.

Any info on if I am getting good numbers would be helpful as well as suggestions on how to reduce this closer to $300 per month would be much appreciated!!

At those numbers, I get $346/mo., which is fairly close to their number. The numbers are the same across the board on the Premium trim, so options don't matter. Eyesight is an option on the Premium model, but it's not a dealer-added option, is it? I would think it would have to be factory installed.

The only way to lower the payment with the numbers presented is to get a lower selling price. That may not be possible on a 2015 model.

We do have lease numbers for the 2014 model year. If they are in stock at the dealer, no reason why you couldn't lease one of them.
