Can someone please give me some input on the following offer?

2014 Audi A6 Quattro Premium Plus;
Bose system;
Cold Weather Package;
19" wheels;
Four-zone climate control;
Audi Side-Assist.

MSRP: $52,840;
Rebates: $2,500;
Trade-in: $8,000;
Residual: 50%;
MF: 0.002992;
Acquisition fee: $695;
Processing fee: $399;
Lease Term: 42 months;
Washington, DC area.

Monthly payment: $585

It seems to me (by reading other comments here) that the residual may be lower than average, and the money factor appears to be considerably higher than average.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    So, you are putting $8000 in trade-in equity into the lease? First off, I wouldn't do that. The next thing is the selling price. Did they disclose it. You aren't paying $52,840 minus the $2500 are you? I would expect an additional discount of around $3000 or so..

    Also... .002992 doesn't look like a normal Audi money factor, unless you have really poor credit. Can you check that number? If that's the 2.0T Q model, then 50% is correct for 42 months, 12K/yr lease. .00058 is the base money factor.

    Thank you very much for the response!

    Our plan was to put the $8,000 trade-in toward the lease. Do you mind explaining why that's a bad idea? Also, the initial quote was for $52,840 minus the $2,500, but I intend to seek a lower price when I meet with the dealer.

    I pulled the 0.002992 money factor from Cars.com; however, after running through the numbers quoted by the dealership, it appears as though that number is a fairly accurate reflection of the rate we would be charged. I felt it was high as well--especially because my credit is good and my wife's is exceptional. I called today to ask for the exact money factor, but was given the run-around. It is great to know what the base money factor is to ensure we don't get taken advantage of during negotiations.

    Thank you again for your help. Also, when you have a minute, if you could explain to me the concerns over the trade-in, I would really appreciate it!

    Car sells for $50K.... you put $8K down, resulting in a CAP cost of $42K.. Two weeks later, someone runs into you, totals the car.. Insurance company says it's worth $46K, the bank gets paid off, and you maybe get $4K back... So, you are out $4K to lease the car for two weeks..

    You put nothing down... bank gets $46K and the GAP insurance pays off the other $4K... It's best to keep the trade-in separate.. Ask them to cut you a check.

    You can't guess or reverse-engineer the money factor. You have to ask the dealer.. And, you also need to know the selling price of the car, and if that's before or after the $2500 is applied.. It pays to be very direct. "I want to know the money factor you are using to calculate this lease". Then, keep repeating yourself until they tell you.

    Frankly, your initial quote looks like a terrible deal. But, you need a lot of details.

    Looking to lease a 2015 or 2014 A6 2.0T Premium with Nav and looking for Residuals and Money Factors for 36 and 39 month leases at 7,500 and 10k miles in the NY area. I can get the car at invoice minus the $1,500 conquest since my company is part of the preferred supplier program. Are there any other incentives - aside from the 1st month paid by Audi?

    I'll assume Quattro, since you are in NY?

    2014: .00038 MF and 55% residual for 36mo, 10K/yr. 56% residual for 7.5K/yr.

    2015: .00107 MF and 58% residual for 36mo, 10K/yr. 59% residual for 7.5K/yr

    Premium Plus

    36mo, 15K/yr: .00091 MF and 53% residual.

    42mo, 15K/yr: .00111 MF and 49% residual.

    Subtract 2% from either program for Prestige

    Mileage over 15K/yr. I'm sure that upfront is cheaper than post-paid, but not sure of the details.
