Don't Buy This Car!!!! 2014 Chevy Spark

My 2014 Spark has 496 miles and is already in the service department at the dealership. Was having problems: Hesitation when accelerating into traffic or from a stop; (2) when coasting to a stop sign/light it feels like someone applied the brake and (3) altho an automatic often wouldn't shift into 2nd gear unless you took your foot off the gas and lastly sometimes when driving felt like there was a hesitation. Today was told that the factory installed the wrong pistons in "some" of the Sparks and they would have to completely rebuilt my brand new Spark. I will dump this POS as soon as possible and buy something from a reliable company. Chevrolet has lost my business FOREVER.

Well, I am having similar issues in my 2014 Spark LT1 with CVT. It goes into the dealership in a few days for 2 recalls (A/C and PVC). I will discuss the hesitation issue. Mine also lurches when driven at slow speeds... like in a parking lot. Feels like a 15-year-old is trying to learn to drive a stick! I have 14,000 miles on my 2014, so I drive A LOT. I also get this "dead spot" in the pedal when hitting around 35 - 45 MPH where it feels like the car has slipped into Neutral. Sometimes it is revving high, but the speed remains the same, then the revs return to normal... huh? Economy is good at 38 mpg overall, seating is comfortable for my bad back, and roomy for such a tiny car. But it was CHEAP (you could buy 2 Sparks for the price of an average new compact SUV!). So I look at it as a "beat it into the ground throw away car." But the hesitation is scary...and unsafe. Thanks for your post... I will discuss the piston issue with the dealership. Troubling to think of getting a whole new engine on a new car... but then... if it corrects the problem, for the price, it's still a good deal. How is yours running with the replacement engine? Did it resolve the hesitation? I was thinking it may be the CVT, but I've had 2 other cars with CVT trannies and they never did any of this.
