Toyota Avalon has no power, no electricity

Help!!
Turned key in my 2000 Avalon. Dashboard lit up briefly then car COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN!!
No nothing. Theft deterrent light not on...nothing. Can't get the hood open to check link or other fuses. Please help....
