Bluetooth compatible phones for a 2015 Nissan Altima.

Have had my 2015 Altima for five days now and am VERY pleased overall with the vehicle. It is comfortable, performance (including mileage) is excellent. My one complaint is that there are VERY few phones that are fully compatible with the bluetooth system employed by the NAV-equipped version of the Altima. The phone will connect, but not all features (most notably the phone book) will download. Looks like I am going to have to do an expensive phone update to get one to accommodate my phone book. Anyhone else experiencing this issue? My recently traded 2011 Ford Fusion never met a phone it didn't like!

Have a 2010 M-B and got a 2014 Rogue. Phone would pair with Rogue, but then wouldn't work. Apparently, multiple applications inside phone and car must match. That's what both Verizon and Nissan stated.
Got a new Samsung Gusto 3 basic phone because it was only one that Verizon, Nissan and M-B said would pair with all.
Apparently, most car companies have internet sites where you can see the phones they have tested and then compare this to your carrier's phones. Other phones may work, but have not been tested.

I recently purchased a 2015 Nissan Altima with Nav and love the car, except I'm also having issues with the phone system. If I tell it to "call John" it repeats "call John" and then contacts someone else in my phone book. The dealers say it is a Verizon problem and that it also happens with Cellcom. The Nissan website specifically indicates that my Samsung S7 should work with my Verizon. Has anyone had any luck rectifying this issue?

I'm going to answer my own question above. First let me say that I talked with a Verizon customer service rep and after conferring with others in his office, told me that the only thing I could do to help the phone issue is to disconnect the Nav system in my car and use Google maps on my phone instead. Meanwhile, my daughter was researching the issue and said she found only 2 suggestions as to how to fix the issue. One suggestion was to delete everyone in your phone book and reenter them while connected to the Nav system in your car. The other very helpful suggestion was to go to apps/settings/phone settings which should take you to a place where you can sort by First Name and Last Name. Mine was set at First Name. She had me change it to Last Name and back out of all the settings. Then she had me go back in and set it back to First Name. IT WORKED! She likened it to a spreadsheet where the first column was sorted but wasn't connected to the second column. This simple technique resets the columns so they are together. Hope this helps someone else.

Great information, wondering15 -- it's amazing how many different answers you got before you hit on the solution. Your daughter's detective work is likely to help a lot of people who are frustrated by of the same problem!
