96 Ford Taurus - ABS light

I have a 96 Taurus with 113,000 miles. For no known reason, the ABS light is coming on after 4-5 seconds of being off and it stays on. Does anyone know of any possible causes, diabnostics, or tips?

    The light coming on means that there is a fault somewhere in the ABS system. Could be a sensor or wiring issue. The system should have a self-diagnostic system to let a tech know what is wrong. According to my OM (96 Sable), the brakes will work, just not the ABS system.
