I have had trouble for the past 3 1/2 months with my 88 325i conv. When I leave it overnight for several hours and then get into it to drive it hesitates within the first couople of hundred yards and seems like it wants to quit, but it picks back up and keeps on going. Doesn't do it the rest of the day. I've had the fuel injectors cleaned (twice!!!),the mechanic at BMW Huntsville, AL thought it was still the problem although I told him it had been done before to no avail. I've had the car in their hands three times now trying to reproduce the problem, but they say it isn't doing it for them. It does it almost daily for me, though!!!! Does anyone know what the problem might be????

Well, if it's a problem that clears itself up once the car warms up a little, I suspect some sort of fuel delivery issue or perhaps a leaking intake manifold. One of your injector may be "spitting" rather than giving an even spray, but which one? Ah, there's the question that's pretty hard to solve.

Some people just give up and replace all the injectors on older cars. Expensive, but often clears the problem.

so have the shop check for leaking intake manifold and also for faulty cold start injector or temperature sensor which might not be telling the computer that the engine is cold.
