What kind of Toyota? Year? Engine?

Did you dislodge any wiring working on the engine?

thanks for getting back to me so quick. There weren't many wires and I did reconnect everything. I did leave the ground loose for the first two test drives. I tighten it and turned the light off, got the light again. eddie

Could it be that I just missed a tooth on the belt? eddie

Well that's possible. That's the code you'd get if the timing belt slipped a tooth.

I don't know if you disturbed the ECM harness at all, but the P016 can also indicate an ECM signal problem.

Good evening, I just test drove the car. It runs perfect but when I shut it down and restart it the engine light and the VSC and Trac off light also light up. I changed the timing belt and water pump last week. I did forget to tighten the ground wire going to the motor mount till the next day. I would appreciated any ideas you may have. I'll check the timing marks tomorrow morning, but it runs so smooth, it hard to believe. And the VSCand trac light? Thanks again, eddie
