2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Lease Questions

On a car with an MSRP of $39575, I negotiated a price of $37600. For a 36 month lease at 12k miles a year, I would be putting $3800 down due at signing (including taxes $1400.19, 1st months payment $467.12, and fees $595. The upfront fees would total 2462.40, with my actual $ down being 1337.60. The residual value of the vehicle would be 20,975. With that said, the dealership offered me a deal of $405 a month.

One problem I do have is that the first months payment is 467.12 and not 405, is this normal?

Anyway, I'm wondering if this a good deal, and is there any advice anyone can give me to potentially improve it.

Ended up settling on a 39 month lease on a Grand Cherokee Altitude with an msrp of 39175. I put $3800 down, including taxes, all fees and first months payment. The lease is for 12k miles a year at $378 a month. Painstaking negotiation process, but all in all, I'm satisfied with the deal. Great truck so far

Michael: Selling price is $40,175. Basically it's a 4x4 Laredo with Altitude Package 23Z (black on black), also included: power sunroof, 9 Amp speakers+ sub and rear back up cam. I'm trowing in my Highlander SE lease with one payment left ( $360) and just have to pay bank/license, etc fees.

Do you think it's a good deal? Seems like it is.

Need some help calculating my payment as I have been getting different outcomes.

Fees: 2300 (Tax 1510, 895 Various other)
Net Cap Cost: 35,105
No money down (just first month, DMV, etc)

The dealer I visited last night gave me the following:
Money Factor: .00018
Residual: 58%

When I do the calculation myself or use this calculator, http://www.leaseguide.com/calc/  , I am getting a payment between $340-$350 a month. Are my assumptions wrong somewhere?

Also, I'm calculating tax taking the depreciation plus the rebates (11,803 + 4500) times the NY tax rate, is this right?

Using the numbers you've provided, I get a pre-tax payment of $313.17/mo for 39 months.

I believe the assumption is correct regarding the taxes.

Yeah, I'd say something is wrong with the dealer's pencil, or calculator.

Curious as to what a lease payment for 10k miles on a 2015 grand Cherokee altitude.  MSRP 39950 and negotiated sale price of 37000. I also wanted to roll in everything into the payment. I live in the MD area and they initially hit with a payment of 583 a month.  I have a 743 credit score and I'm a little confused as to why it would be that high.

.00018 and 58% for 36/10. With your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $394.97.

I suspect a few things ...

1. dealer is marking up the MF on you, which they are allowed to do
2. MD is one of a few states that applies sales tax to the entire selling price
3. the 'net cap cost' is higher than your selling price - ask the dealer what that number is, and how they got there from the sell price

With the new selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $300.19.

Like I noted above, the selling price is not the same as the net cap cost .. that number will include any taxes and fees you are not paying up front. You need to get that number from the dealer so we can get an accurate payment.

I'll assume RWD since you are in Florida.

39/10 numbers are .00011 and 56%. With your MSRP and sell price, I get a pre-tax payment of $404.24/mo.

I have finally gotten a net cost of 36516. The finance woman told me they only use ally bank and also quoted me a payment of approximately $550. She also let me know basically a interest rate of 7 percent.  What should I be at in regards to payment living in Maryland? thanks!

The only numbers we have are from Chrysler Financial, so we can't help you with your Ally funded lease.

The finance person has a choice of banks; I suspect she is using Ally for some benefit to her or the dealer. Try reaching out to another Jeep dealer who will use Chrysler Finance.

.00018 MF and 55% residual.. from Chrysler Capital.

I assume the $430/mo includes 6% Michigan tax? If so, pre-tax is about $405/mo.

Using the negotiated price as the CAP cost, I get a payment of $361/mo. pretax.
If your additions to the negotiated price are around $1600, then that would make up the difference.

Where does the $5800 in cap cost reductions come from? We don't recommend putting cash down or trade equity to lower the payment - if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

Vehicle: Altitude 4x4 w/ 45k/mi 36 mo, tow package, backup cam, speaker upgrade, and all-weather mats

Cap reduction = $3000 secondary to family and friends 1% below invoice
Rebates = $1500 for conquest and military

Deal was 432$/mo but opted for maintenance package for $440/mo which includes free oil changes

I paid No Cash Down, first payment of $440 and $440/mo for 35 mo.

Did I get a decent deal and do all of these numbers add up? I spent the whole day negotiating to get these numbers and I hope it wasn't in vain lol. Either way I'm a happy owner of a Silver Altitude

Using your MSRP and selling price, along with the base MF of .00018 and the 36/10 residual of 58%, I get a pre-tax payment of $382.60. It's possible that the net cap cost is different from the selling price, or that the dealer has marked up the MF for more profit.
