Small Engine, Big Fun - 2014 Mini Cooper Hardtop Long-Term Road Test
The redesigned 2014 Mini Cooper doesn't have a lot of power, but that doesn't make it any less fun.

I am thinking that a loaded, $27k Fiesta ST has this MINI covered with a blanket.
And while the MINI interior is now sharing the patent on ergonomic-nightmare interiors that it formerly had an exclusive on, it's still pretty bad. As you yourself have admitted already.
For thousands and thousands of dollars less, a Fiesta ST is a much better deal with a larger performance envelope. For similar money, a new, loaded Mk7 GTI is light-years better - and it's an actual car as opposed to an expensive toy.
I say it happens before 10K miles. Almost tempted to call it at 7500 miles...

"The Mini redlines at 6,500 rpm but its sweet spot at about 4k"
Yeah, this is very diesel-like. Which is fine for daily driving but don't pretend it's a sporty engine by any means.
