Great post about a trip with sentimental value, Cameron. I know a lot of the staff complains about the long-distance comfort in the F-Type. If I was in the market for one, I would have a hard time justifying the Type R over the V8 or even one of the V6 models. They might not have the same sheer power and performance (or insane exhaust note) as the Type R, but I'd imagine they'd at least have more compliant suspensions, and possibly more comfortable seats. While not as quick as the Type R, the V6 and V8 models aren't slow by any means. Unless someone was buying an F-Type for use as a weekend fun car, the other models would probably make it much more enjoyable and livable as a daily driver.

I agree - you don't pick this, or a Boss 302 Laguna Seca, or an AMG Black Series model, and then criticize it for not being an optimal daily driver. Similarly, I doubt that anyone who buys this car is going to draw a blank on the powertrain specs, if asked.
