Isuzu Rodeo rear hatch lock stuck inside door

Hello, I have a 2004 isuzu rodeo( glass open up and door opens to the side). The rear lock has been pushed inside the door. I was able to get the lock back through the door but now when I put my key in and turn nothing happens. I believe a spring or clip was broken. The lock will fall back into the door if I push in. Would anyone have any advice on how to get the door open?

I used duct tape around the lock to secure it temporarily. Heres a link to some repair instructions. I pretty much did the same thing.
