@jafrances, you're about $500 below our True Market Value price, assuming you're getting a 4WD version. So you're doing fine. If you aren't in a hurry, the price could go down a bit at the end of the month.
Honda sales are going gangbusters and I know some dealers are selling CR-Vs $1,000 or more below our TMV in some regions of the country, like MD and VA. You may want to put some feelers out for a couple of more quotes or get a free Price Promise certificate and compare your quote with it.
I bought a Honda Pilot EXL (2WD) from Palm Harbor Honda last week. Out the door price ( including Tax and Title, I had my old tag and number plate from my other car ) came to $33,600. Ask for Jamie, a wonderful guy.
I am doing some research about buying a 2015 FWD EX-L RES Honda Pilot. I was given this price quote today. $33,113 + $499 doc fee + $1176.42 sales tax + $16.50 title fee = $34,804.92 total. Does this sound like a good price to you? Would it be better to wait on the 2016 redesign rather than buying a 2015?
The price is good compared to TMV here in NM of $35,042. You're coming in under invoice of $34,675. The doc fee is a bit high but the dealer has to make money somewhere. You can drill down to the Pilot using the Make|Model tabs above and see what TMV is in your area by selecting the Build/Price link. But your quote sounds good to me - heck, you're out the door for under TMV.
If the 2016 was coming out "soon", I'd be inclined to wait (I'm always inclined to wait though - I'm cheap that way). There's some spy shots out but no indication that the new Pilot will show up at the Detroit auto show next month or any other reliable guesses about when it'll actually hit the showrooms. That could be nine months away.

Which dealership? I am in MD too and looking to purchase 2015/Pilot.

For a 2015 EX-L with roof rails received a quote of $31,500.00 plus $830.00 destination fee, total of $32,330.00 + tax and DMV. dealer is giving us $10,500.00 for our 2007 EX-L with 79,500 miles on it. we live on Long Island, NY Is this a good deal?
@nickc5, for Long Island, I'm assuming an AWD Pilot.
I don't have access to the pricing on the dealer option rails, but otherwise the TMV number to beat is $35,413. So your quote sounds really good to me. If you are looking at a FWD, you're still beating TMV and invoice but "just" around $1,000. There may be a few hundred more bucks lying around on a FWD deal tomorrow, hard to say. Doesn't cost anything to ask.
@stever ... I haven't pulled the trigger as yet. I contacted multiple dealers and they are not budging on the dealer added accessories and freight. So the best sales price i've received is $31225 before taxes/tags on the EXL AWD.
I am in Northern Virginia and was just quoted the following by a dealer here for a 2015 EX-L with Navigation: $32,254 (incl. appearance package) +830 destination/freight + $585 processing fee + $1,266 Va sales tax + $102 tags, etc. = $35,037 total. Does this sound like a good price to you?
Just picked up a 2015 Pilot EXL AWD in Northern VA. I was the last customer of the year, dealership turned their lights off before I left their parking lot. I think I got a pretty decent deal.

For a 2015 EX-L no nav and no RES $32,700.00 + tax and DMV. dealer is giving us $17,000 for our 2010 pilot touring with 80k miles on it. Long Island, NY Is this a good deal?
I was just quoted $30,500 on a fwd 2015 pilot ex-l with nav and sunroof. Not including taxes. This seems like a good deal but I wanted to get others thoughts.
Hi Guys, i am in a bit of a pickle. i was haggling with a dealer to get price down and got to 31450 b4 ttl. i went to the dealer and they wanted me to put money down to hold as the vehicle was not in stock which i did. i just got 2 more offers today that are $650 lower. do you think there would be a issue getting my deposit back? any insight would be great.
Shouldn't be an issue, unless there's "non-refundable" language somewhere. Some dealers drag their feet cutting refund checks but it's pretty unusual for one to refuse to refund the deposit, unless you special ordered an unusual car in an oddball color.
Next time put the deposit on your credit card. Or just decline to put a deposit down. There'll be another truckload of cars arriving at the dealer in another week or two.
The real reason for asking for a deposit is to take shoppers out of the market so they won't search out better deals. Didn't work in your case since you are an informed buyer and sought out more than one quote.
Alternatively, just go back to the dealer you put down a deposit with and let him know there is a lower offer and that you are going to cancel your deposit unless he meets it.
Just purchased a 2015 Honda Pilot EX-L 4x4 with RES for $32,000 + taxes + DMV + doc fees and tire waste fee, total came out to $35,002. I live in NY and purchased the car at White Plains Honda. Did not buy the extended warranty, they wanted too much money for it. Plus, I now a few owners who have gone over 100k in miles with no problems. (fingers crossed)
I bought a new 2015 Honda pilot EX a few weeks ago.. I felt pressured to buy since there wasn't many 2015 around and the 2016 cost more than 2015.. Anyway, I seemed to easy to get to my price and I really felt I could of gotten a better deal.. The price was 31k ( Plus all the fees and taxes ect) I ended up paying 33,900 out the door... (No finance) I feel like I could of gotten it for 33k.. (I bought the Honda in northern VA)
I was hoping to get thoughts on the price (33,900 Out the door) Could I have done better?
Maybe, but the inventory is shrinking every day. Waiting is a good way to save money, but how many years do you want to wait for a new car? (I'm in year 15 LOL).

The Pilot is a bit overdue for an update. @ushy66 might know more over in the 2016 Pilot discussion if you ask him.

I bought a 2015 Pilot SE 2WD a couple of months ago.
Stickered for $34,000 from Honda including destination.
Paid $28,803 including the doc fee.
Also got $1,000 from Honda as a down payment because I owned an older Pilot.
Bought the car in Pine Bluff, AR but I live in TN. Financed $27,803 and paid cash for the taxes at the TN clerk's office. ($2,209)
I was hoping to get thoughts on the price (33,900 Out the door) Could I have done better?
