Yeah, that's an odd feature. I've seen a few cars with their spoilers raised like that. Very odd.

Can you pop it when parked so you can wax the leading edges? And it'd be handy to use as a rope tie-down when you toss your kayak on top.

Ugh. I can't stand seeing cars with extended spoilers that shouldn't be extended. At highway speeds, it's great. Let the car do with it as its designers intended. When you're detailing your car, extend that spoiler by all means. But when I see a parked Audi, Porsche, BMW, etc with an extended spoiler, all I can imagine is that the owner really wanted to show off. And no one likes a show-off.

I had assumed that the purpose of raising these spoilers manually was for cleaning. Just like in the old days of pop-up headlights, the Honda Accord had a button to pop up the headlights (but not turn them on). This is so you can clean and access the lights.

Maybe if its pouring and you drive above speed limit on the highway, I would find it useful.
Or if you track the car and try to drop some serious lap times.
Otherwise, there is no real need for additional downforce!

It probably is. Any mechanical thing such as thing is bound is break, especially if it's on a German car.
