2005 Hyundai Tiburon Transmission issues?

I own a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon GT, V6 automatic. I am having an issue with the transmission. When I pull out into traffic and have to step on the gas the car kinda "slams" into 3rd gear. In addition if I travel more than 45 minutes and shut off the car, if it is off less than 15 minutes when I turn it on it is stuck in low gear. At this point I have to reset it by disconnecting the battery for at least 20 minutes. Any else have these problems? If so, what was/is your solution.

    You should start with a computer scan to see if there are any codes from the transmission modules. Might be something to do with defective solenoids or excess line pressure.
