G37 Lease Turn In Questions

Howdy,

I'm hoping someone can provide some feedback.

My lease is up on 04/4/15. I'm probably not going to lease again due to a high residual ($30,695). Instead, I will probably buy a used '12-'13.

The car does have some wear & tear. For example:

- Minor curb rash on right front tire...pretty similar to the one in this pic.

- Several shallow scratches on roof. Looks like I cat was chilling on it. Not sure. I'm assuming these can come off with some good buffering.

- Passenger side mirror scratch like this one

- Some scratches on front bumper

Now my questions: should I get the car inspected AS IS and then figure out what I will be charged for? Or should I get some of the damage fixed before?

If I buy a used G37 from the dealer, could they roll in any lease repair fees into the selling price?

Thanks in advance!

Just turned in my G37 in October. Independent inspector came to my workplace, and completed inspection and paperwork, there.

They will note every ding and scratch, and put a dollar value on it. In my case, the total amount for all of it was $240, but the inspector said all were under the threshold for charging for, and my total lease end charges were ZERO. I was more worried about the 18" tires with 36K miles on them, but they passed, as well.

Admittedly, my car was in a little better shape than yours, but if you don't have unrepaired work from an accident, I would take my chances.. The charges (if any) are likely to be less than the cost of repair. I found the inspection very fair. Schedule it about 3-4 weeks out, in case it happens to come out othewise, and then you can make decisions about possible repairs, then.

Thank you! Great info here! Just wondering, did you lease again or purchase?

We had 4 cars for 3 drivers, so I just let that one go... So, had to pay the disposition fee, but that was it.. They had some pretty aggressive deals for current lessees in November.. An extra $2500 incentive over the general public.

That's what I've been hearing. I guess the phrase "Once you lease, you don't stop leasing" is somewhat true. Ha! Thanks again for your feedback.
