Little power when reversing up slight incline - 2011 Nissan Rogue SL

I just bought a used 2011 Nissan Rogue SL (38K Miles):

Does anyone else have the issue of having noticeably little power when reversing up a slight incline? I park my Rogue on our driveway and our driveway slopes down towards our house, slightly. When I attempt to reverse "up" the incline when backing out of the driveway, it seems like the car really struggles to make it. Sometimes it almost feels like the AWD kicks in and sends power to different wheels. Is this just a CVT issue and I have to live with little to no power when reversing or should I take this in to get it looked at. I have the 100k-mile warranty.

Thanks.

Hard to say what's going on. A CVT will behave differently than a regular automatic, so "symptoms" that appear in a CVT might be normal while those same symptoms would be cause for alarm in a regular automatic. I have heard of some problems with the CVTs in earlier models of the Rogue (2008) but not much otherwise. I believe Nissan backs up its CVTs to 120,000K, don't they?

You might read up on the Nissan Extended Warranty for CVTs. I'm not sure your year is covered but it's worth a call.

The car is under full warranty currently. Powertrain and upgraded warranty. So maybe taking it to the dealership to do a once-over on the CVT/power issues might be the way to go. I guess I'd feel better if I knew that other people had the same experience or not. Because if they don't, then I know my situation is unique and I need to get it checked out. But if other people have the same experience with their Rogues, then I know this is "normal" for this model/type of car.

I am also thinking this might be an issue with the rear differential.

I just figured out that this issue only happens when the car is cold and not warmed up. After the car has been driven for a while, it reverses just fine up the inclined driveway.
