Smart City Brake Support

I am leasing a 2015 CX-5 Grand Touring. I had believed the SCBS to be a great safety feature and was one of the motivations to lease. I have as yet to have the system engage. I returned to the dealer and expressed my concern. The salesman was also unable to engage the system. The salesman then sought the advice of their lead technician and he was unable to get the SCBS to work as advertised. Is this system a joke? Have any other owners had this system work and if so under what conditions?

    I'm not familiar with the Mazda but is this basically a radar initiated full stop?

    How did you or your salesmen try to engage it?

    I think its a great feature and I actually tested it few times on a luxury car and i was shocked how precise this feature works but only on a solid object such as a wall.
    you can have your foot lightly pushing on the break pedal so you can feel the break pedal vibrating while the radar break is engaged.

    I am not sure how you personally tested the system but it only works on a solid object.
    It totally failed on a fence. i just drove through without stopping.

    let me know
