Hi there, ive got a mazda 2011 cx-7 and whenever i start the engine the rpm`s go up to 2000,after 30 seconds approx they go back to normal.Could anyone help me out with this?
The computer has complete control of the engines idle speed, that's important because its likely with the colder weather that the engineers might want the engine to run faster when first started for a number of reasons. BTW "fast idle" when cold isn't a new strategy, its always taken extra fuel and airflow to improve cold drivability and not having that increased idle speed usually results in other issues including hard to start and stalling after started complaints.
If you are not noticing any other issues then the high idle after first started cold is likely normal.
