Problems with Ford Escape

I have an 03 ford Escape, and recently have had TONS of trouble, 2 days after Christmas of 2014 had to have a new rack & Pinion put in, new Alternator, and new battery, 963.00, then yesterday it was misfiring so badly I had a computer diagnostic done on it, and 17 error codes came up, from misfiring on 1 & 4, to misfiring on startup, oxygen sensor, and even the PCM. Had anyone else had these kinds of problems come on all at once like this?
