    I've always thought that BMW makes the most reliable German car. A friend of mine bought a used high mileage 2002 5 series 7 years ago that I thought would be a money pit but I was wrong. Other than regular maintenance (expensive maintenance) an issue with the water pump and a few check engine light issues it has been reliable. It now has 220,000 miles on it and feels very at home cruising at high speed on the interstate. The leather is cracked, the displays are missing pixels and I think the check engine light is on again but he still uses it as his daily driver work car.

    how has making it to 20k without a hiccup now praiseworthy? i thought that was the whole point of buying brand new
