The engine should be warmed up after sitting for hours? The engine WILL be warmed up...just get in, start up, wait a minute and drive...it will be warm in a couple of minutes. You don't have to warm up a modern engine before you put the car in gear and go.

I must say I am loving this feature in my new Chevy. It also allows me to start the engine from my phone via an app. Very useful in frigid weather. It turns on the rear defroster and heated mirrors, so by the time I get to the car I am ready to drive instead of having to wait.

Amazing the times we live in when we demand that technology both save fuel and make our lives increasingly more comfortable with little thought to the areas where these two goals diverge. Think about it for a minute: we have engines that turn off at stoplights to save fuel but turn on when nobody's in the car so that the temperature is just right when the driver arrives.
