Major engine work - timing chain and catalytic converter - '11 Equinox

My 2011 Equinox is just over 3 years old with 75,000 miles The check engine line went on and my dealership said the timing chain and catalytic converter needs to be replaced. This seems insane to me - I've had cars with 150,000+ and never needed anything like this. Had nothing but issues from day one - I'm in the shop so often, I never need to enter the password for Internet access.

Anyone else run into this??? Thanks.

Ask about the federal emissions warranty about the converter.

For the timing chain, they typically last the life of a car. You may want to open up a case with GM, and emphasize that you had all your maintenance done at the dealer (it sounds like you did).
