    I start with trying to find the condition with which I can recreate it 100% of the time.

    I'm usually in denial about occasional sounds and don't address it until it seems to be a major/consistent issue. By the time I get it to the dealer, there's no problem about replicating the issue.

    I'm the same way as kirkhilles1. I roll up the windows so I can't hear the noise anymore and wait for something to really break before fixing it.

    I suspect the seals may be the culprit. As a soft good, they are more likely to be irregular even under seemingly stable conditions.
