Gentlemen,

I have model LE comes with separate 4WD gear stick. I usually used 4L to get out of ice or 2ft deep of snow that turned to ice overnight. If I used 4H would it make the 2 front wheels engaged and rolled instead of the 2 rear wheels in 4L. Is there a gear that also make all 4 wheels engaged at the same time?

Thanks in advance for anyone's advises!!

1995? you should have part-time 4WD without a center differential, so my understanding is that the only difference between 4L and 4H are the gear ratios, not which wheels are engaged. All 4 of your wheels should travel at the same rate of speed, which is why you can only use your 4WD in muddy or snowy conditions, not merely wet roads. Your front and rear differentials are locked together in other words, with no "slip" allowed since you don't have the center diff.

That is definitely correct on the '95 Pathfinder.. Part-time 4WD, with no center differential. (I bought one new in '95)
