I have a 2008 Acadia. I love my car, but these past 5 months it has had problem after problem. Suspension had to be changed, and now it seems to have a transmission problem. Under 60,000 miles. The pieces on this car are not cheap!! Seriously reconsidering buying a GM for the next one.

From the looks on the boards, transmission issues seems be very common, GM can you help us out....

I also have a 2008 GMC Acadia had the transmission fixed in 2012 at a GMC dealership now 2015 and it's messed up again! You press the gas the RPM's jump but your speed does nothing.

    Hello ashley85nicole,

I'm deeply sorry to hear of the reoccurring transmission issue with your 2008 GMC Acadia. We'd be more than happy to research your transmission concern further by reaching out to the dealership on your behalf. Please send your VIN, contact information, current mileage, and preferred dealership in a private message if this is something you'd like to move forward with.

    All the best,

Add me to the list as well. 2008 GMC Acadia transmission is acting up again after having the Transmission Control Module replaced by the dealership in March of 2013 at 61,000 miles. They covered that under warranty. I recently had a check engine light code appear indicating a transmission problem. I thought I would be covered with the recall I just received for the transmission problem dated March of 2015. And the dealer just told me that the TCM is broken again. Not covered because the replacement on that part was beyond 12 months, 12,000 miles ago. Yes, I too have had the usual list of problems repaired by the dealer (power steering, headlight, air bag, windshield wiper heater, etc). Perhaps at some point down the road GMC will include the TCM on the list of transmission items with extended coverage. Until then I'll have to pay up so I can get my car back. Shame on me I guess for not dumping this lemon. I believe its time to jump on board with a different manufacturer for my next purchase.

My sister and my neighbor both have Acadias and have had all these problems as well as a few others (leaks, battery drains from the audio system, to name a couple). My sister isn't a car person and doesn't care so much, my neighbor would dump hers in a heartbeat if she could afford something, anything different.

Well I feel honored. The dealer took the hit and gave me a 10% discount on the repair.
