    Volvo On-Call in-car Wi-Fi and telematics service is a supplement to the new standard Sensus Connect 7" interface with mobile applications available starting with 2015.5 Volvo models.

    The Wi-Fi connectivity is via AT&T wireless. The modem is 3G capable only. That is why the Wi-Fi icon displays 3G.

    Every 2015.5 Volvo comes with a complimentary 6 months Volvo On-Call service plan. Thereafter the subscription charge is $200 per year (with discounts for longer term plans.)

    Separately, there is the ability to data power the Sensus Connect apps, via either a Bluetooth connected Apple smartphone or other smart phone via USB tethering.

    We have auditioned the 3G powered Volvo Sensus Connect apps in Chicago, where AT&T 3G signal was presumably strong. Yet opening apps such as Yelp or Pandora or often required at least a minute, sometimes two.
