Impala water damage

My wife drove her impala into the lake now security light  passlock is on wont crank.  My queation is if i get another bcm from junkyard  will it need to be flashed

    On the BCM, yes I believe so ( and I have heard they can only be flashed x amount of times, may or may not be true).

    After that you may want to figure out why it won't crank as I believe the security is a fuel shutoff and it should still crank, just not run well without fuel.

    A used BCM isn't going to work. The BCM latches and cannot be changed/reprogrammed after a specific number of key cycles. (four if I recall correctly although it might be six on some models.) Instead of just attempting to toss a part this really should be investigated by a skilled technician.

    yes Honda I will agree with that. ok first thing this dam thing wouldn't go into relearn mode, but with the security light on it affects more than just fuel and some will crank and then die shortly after,Some wont start at al
    But here's what i did Chevrolet didn't use gold on there terminals so all contacts are crusted up. so I took the bcm out and apart from its box Simple two basic clips holding it together took a soft toothbrush and cleaned the hell out of it making sure nothing bridging contacts put it back together started rite up.
