As a part of the $4,400 Premium package on our long-term 2015 Lexus RC F, we got heated and ventilated front seats but they aren't as useful as we'd hope.

    You could always wear a thin summer dress yourself if you really wanted the butt coolers.

    Hm, I was sitting in a Soul a couple of weeks ago and tried out the ventilated seats. I was wearing jeans and it felt like the ventilation was via the AC and not just blowing cabin air through the seats (which is the way most "ventilated" seats work, and the way the Kia works).

    The real trick may be to crank the car AC up too.

    That photo of the rear end.. it look like if you floored it, that massive white plastic bumper will be left behind while a little white Corolla will be seen scurrying off into the distance.

    Ventilated seats always sound like a great feature in concept, but whenever I've tried them in a car equipped as such, I've never been impressed. I've never really felt the need for them, anyways. Even in the Midwest, where we see plenty of summer days with triple-digit highs, I've always felt that normal AC was adequate enough for keeping me comfortable once the interior cooled down. Plus, I've heard stories of fans and ducting for these systems getting clogged up, which probably requires an expensive trip to the dealer.

    In any case, ventilated seats require perforated leather, which I can't stand. Perforated leather is an absolute nightmare to clean.
