Thanks to its powerful V6, our 2015 Nissan Murano feels like a smaller vehicle than it really is.

Those smaller turbo fours are actually making more torque than this V6...but you knew that, right?

Sadly, the Rogue didn't come with one.

I'm glad that Nissan still continues to offer the Murano with only a V6. Plenty of crossovers out there have turbo 4-cyls and some are even decently powerful, but I think a V6 is a much better choice when you're talking about a car with a CVT. I've driven a couple of CVT-equipped Nissans, and even the more powerful 4-cyl models still felt less-refined than the V6 models, probably because the CVT can make much better use of the more linear torque delivery of a N/A V6.

More linear? The torque delivery of a turbo four is basically a flat line...it's as linear as you can get, and much broader than this N/A V6, which is making not very much in the way or torque until around 2500 rpm or so.

Get more specific....the torque delivery of THIS engine is very linear. A turbo (unless it's anemic) does not produce the most linear torque curve. That very fact is what makes them fun. The VQ is a superb combination for this machine. I own a 350HP 2gen MazdaSpeed 3and the 2015 Murano. The power and delivery is superb with the new CVT and matches its personality very well. I've driven ecoboost equipped vehicles that felt more anemic because of its backloaded torque curve. If you don't get on the throttle, the turbo spools little, which is good, because the only thing that will make the ecoboost engine remotely close to Eco. Everyone has such a hard-on for turbo engines, but premium gas, a power curve that lends itself to getting on boost and asking a lot of a low displacement engine "do not an ideal power plant make"...
