Calling Los Angeles-based car shoppers: Have you recently traded in (or plan to trade in) a car with negative equity (i.e. the amount you owe on your auto loan is greater than the car's value)? A reporter would like to speak with you; please reach out to PR@Edmunds.com by 11/6 for details.

Used car has a different color on Carfax.

I want to buy an used Lexus (see link below)

http://www.edmunds.com/lexus/is-250/2010/used/vin/?sub=sedan&invType=USED&vin=JTHCF5C28A5042263

Now the car's color is black, but the report from carfax mentions twice that "Registration issued or renewed
Vehicle color noted as Blue".

Is there something wrong or something I should be wary of? Could it be that the car is refurbished?

Thanks!

The most likely answer is that is a typo and the color is simply incorrect in the carfax. It's a lot of work to change a vehicle color and it would be very obvious if that was done.

That IS was painted in "Black Sapphire"...which is very Dark Blue.
