replaced radiator, radiator cap, thermostat, fan sensors, and still at various times it will overheat. Can't trust it to even drive to town right now. have spent a good deal of money, and not sure what to do with it at this time. am retired and don't want to go buy a new car at this time.

One thing that happens fairly often is the air isn't bled out of system properly after either low coolant situation or change (like radiator/t-stat ETC). If this has been done properly about the only thing left is water pump perhaps,

water pump has been replaced. this is an ongoing problem, i think it is fixed, will drive it a little while, and the same thing happens again. it begins to get hot. doesn't appear to be leaking anywhere, but right now, if you crank it up and let it sit, it gets hot.

Has it been tested for head gasket failure or cylinder head crack? There doesn't have to be water in your oil for this defect to be present. One method is to test the coolant for combustion gases using a chemical test kit.

Also in addition to what Mr Shifty suggests, if this was an earlier 03' that has somehow managed to not get the intake manifold gaskets changed to new part it could be that.

since this overheating problem seems to occur in the rendezvous, is it in both the 4 cylinder as well as 6 cylinder motors? was thinking of changing my motor our.
