15-16 mpg is fine. I mean when you look at the sheer size of the truck, even with the diet plan it's been on, you can really only eek out so much fuel economy.

I have a new F150 with the 3.5EB and max towing package with 3.73 gears. My first tank averaged 17.2MPG over 70% city/ 30% highway. Current tank with same mix is 18.6MPG with 200 miles til empty. Since I have the 33gallon tank, the tank averages are for 600 miles plus

Still missing the 'eco' in EcoBoost...BIG power requires more fuel. Plain and simple and the 2.7T is a monster in terms of performance. Add in the full size pick up war...I mean market,..and anything goes on the spec sheet (GM overrates their new V8s by a lot on MPG). Only a RAM 1500 EcoDiesel is going to be true to it's word on mileage - and that is true of most diesels i.e. VW 2.0TDI. Very rare that you can have your cake and eat it too...

The best fuel economy Edmunds has is below the lowest EPA figure (for city). The average is 5 mpg (or 25% less) than EPA figures. Terrible.

To keep things in perspective @guy1974 -- over 2,000 miles have been spent towing. That's 35% of the miles we've driven the F-150. I'm confident things will level out at least a little bit.

Second tank on my 2015 with the 3.5EB was 18.8MPG over 580 miles. Third tank, 200 miles in is showing over 20, still in mixed city/rural/interstate. You guys can do better.

what's with all the fuel calculations based on towing? I'd like to know what milege is possible with the 2.7T without towing? both city and highway?
