Rear spindle / knuckle replacement in a Nissan Altima.

I've been told that I need the "right rear spindle" replaced on my 2009 Nissan Altima. First of all, are the spindle and knuckle one part? Secondly, how difficult a job would it be to replace this part myself? I've replaced brakes, shocks...things like that before. Just not sure if this job would require a true expert, special tools, etc... Any advice is appreciated.
