Email icon and passive alarm light

edited April 2015 in Ford
I just purchased a used 2012 Ford Escape and just noticed an email icon turning up on my center cluster where the compass gadge is. What does that indicate? I am also concerned about my passive alarm light blinking every two seconds. Will that drain the battery when I park the car for two weeks at the airport. If so, can I disable it by removing a dedicated fuse? Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry about the flashing light - those LEDs barely use any power.

Can you post a pic of the icon?

You can get an owner's manual free online if you don't have one.

I already checked out my manual and did a search on the Internet and found nothing except other concerns about that passive alarm light. But thanks for the reply!

Those little buttons and icons will drive you crazy. After six months I finally found the on/off switch on the 110 outlet in my used '09 minivan. Zilch in the manual.

For the flashing light, you could check out those dashboard solar trickle chargers that plug into a power port.

Hi there, this is donme's sister. He's having problems with his email provider at the moment so I'd thought I'd step in and try to help out. What on earth is the mail icon for? There is nothing in the manual, we could find nothing online about it and the dealer isn't any help either. Here's a photo - see it right there in the middle?

Sorry. The photo shows upside down for some reason :-(
