Are these the same part??

Hello Everyone. I'm trying to find if the Canister Close Valve and Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid are the same part? My wifes 2002 Kia Sedona is not able to vent fuel tank vapors and is a pain when trying to refuel since we have to hold gas nozzle barely in tank and pump so slow. The auto parts store has no listing for the Canister Close Valve (CCV) but has the Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid so hopefully it's the same part. Hopefully, I don't have to go to dealership but I'm surprised that no codes have been thrown and this has been going on for about 1 year.

Well, I replaced the purge vent solenoid and that did not fix the problem as I read elsewhere. When we are puming fuel into the tank we have to pump very slowly since tank is not venting correctly. What am I missing?

The vent valve is not the only point that can become restricted. There is a filter for it and the canister itself can clog and restrict air-flow from the tank as it is being filled. You are just going to have to disassemble further in order to prove what has failed. Make sure you test each part for flow, including the hose (tube) from the canister to the vent valve if used.

There are a few more components to test if the canister and its vent assembly are not restricted. The vapor separator at the top of the tank that directs the vapors from the tank being one, and the filler neck itself could have debris inside it restricting fuel flow.
