does it take time for the computer and engine to evolve? If so, how long?
Just took delivery last week. 250 miles. getting 15MPG avg.

I've never had a Volvo but have never expected great MPG on brand spanking new vehicle where everything is stiff and not broken in yet. Biggest improvemnets I have seen are in the first 5K miles or so and smaller improvements for s few thousand miles after that. YMMV

I have a 2013 S60 T5 that consistently gets 31 or better on the highway, about 24 in mixed suburban driving. That engine is a turbo charged 5 cylinder. I believe yours is a 4 with a turbo charger and a super charger. Yours is not the first complaint I've seen about dismal gas mileage from that engine. But I wouldn't rush to any judgement until you put a couple thousand miles on the car because others are claiming that they're hitting the EPA numbers.

I have a 2015.5 V60 T5 FWD (with the 240hp engine that claims 25 city and 37 highway)...since April 2015. So far it has really fallen short on mileage after 2,000 miles. Even a 350 mile roadtrip that was 90% highway, the trip averaged 32. My current tank...half full now...the computer shows 19mpg...and that is mixed highway and city...with the Auto stop start annoying working all the time.

32mpg highway sounds good enough, right? Well, my previous car was a BMW 335 with 50% more displacement and more power...I took roadtrips doing 80mph with the A/C on and got 31mpg no problem...and that car's EPA sticker was 20city 30 highway.

I was expecting about 29 combined in between highway commuting at 55+ mph and city driving. Not even close if I'm getting 19 on this last tank...22 on the tank before.
