Why no report on the infotainment performance after the visit?

Trying to understand why an ECM (engine control module) update would help an infotainment issue.

Some manufacturers use ECM/ECU for "electronic control module/unit."

This car has a BCM (body control module) and I think that would control the infotainment.

Cars have so many computers on board now that I guess the dealer just uses the generic ECM term for all of them. There are modules (computers) for the engine, transmission, airbags, ABS/Traction/Stability system, climate control, and infotainment. The body control module usually controls windows, locks, security, lights and wipers. A bad body control module can give you hell. My sister's Expedition had one go bad and the result was random dead batteries, alarm going off in the middle of the night, locks cycling and wipers turning on while driving and the worst was the auto lamp system turning the lights off while driving on a road with no street lights.

And the VW doesn't use an oil life monitoring system? I assume it's mileage based since the service warning popped up right at 10,000 miles. I don't mind long service intervals but I would like it based on driving style, temperature, average trip length etc like the more advanced systems do. One hot day at the track could significantly degrade oil quality and a mileage system would not be able to take that into account.
