The temp gauge registers high when the car, 1999 Honda Civic HX is at idle. What am I missing?

I have had the radiator and the thermostat replaced in the last couple of months. The car does not overheat. I check the coolant frequently. The radiator fan is working. What else should I look for?

sounds to me like the water pump is about worn out. best way to check this is to get laser thermometer and measure temp at top and bottom of radiator if coolant is flowing well there should be a significant difference of temp.
