    ONE click or rapid clicks? If rapid clicks check and clean your battery terminal connections and check your ground cable on BOTH ends. If that doesn't help, have your battery load-tested. If it's more than 5 years old, it's probably very tired. Once the car is running, you can check alternator output with a simple voltmeter.

    If you're getting only clicking, = the battery. Whether it is the connection or the battery itself is determined by your next steps.

    Also, the reason the battery is dead might be because the alternator isn't working.
