My 2013 civic is not accelerating very well and its very unresponsive. It feels like it is stuck in a lower gear. Trying to accelerate to get on the highway takes a lot longer than it should. Feels like there is little to no power. What's wrong???

One more thing to add. I am in the second year of my lease with this car. It is up in 2016. I've had a lot of problems with it. Do ya'll think its worth it to continue the lease?

I have always owned, never leased, so this is just an opinion. I have always thought that the advantage of leasing vs owning would be that the lease company would handle all major repairs and service, otherwise I see no advantage to leasing, as you are losing any potential re-sale value. but just on general financial principals whether leasing or owning, if a vehicle has drive-line problems you are setting yourself up for headaches and costly repair. On the other hand, the car is three years old so depreciation is already in place. If you really like the car and want to keep it, you might talk to a friendly mechanic whom you know and trust to get a professional opinion on the repair cost, then if you can negotiate a good purchase price that you're happy with, buy the lease out and fix the car. But carefully weigh the cost of this verses another lease or purchase. The utility value (how much you are willing to pay to have something just because you like it) against fair market recovery value (how much of your initial investment can you recover when you sell or trade up). If you chose the later, be sure to arm yourself with both the current trade-in value and the blue book value of your vehicle before starting any negotiations. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks! It did help. Honestly this is my first and last lease. Its not worth it and all of the trouble and money that Im going to pay. Because Im also severely over my miles. I have one year left on a three year lease and im already at 30,000 miles. My cap off is 36,000. So im so screwed i dont know what to do. I have a broken car and im stuck in this lease that I need out of. Also, I was driving yesterday and the car decided to slip a gear. It went from drive to third. Im beyond frustrated.
