Well, for starters, it has an actual volume knob and tuning knob. I do use presets most of the time, but it is so much nicer to have the traditional adjustment knob on the dash instead of an expanse of flat panel. I have had rental vehicles with Cadillac's, Chevy's and Ford's media systems and they drove me nuts in the limited time I had with them. The system in my Passat doesn't do as much but does it much more intuitively. By the way, I'm still waiting for info on the 2016 Passat, which was supposed to have a lot of changes. Still nothing in July.

My 2015 Chevy Equinox has the Chevy MyLink with actual volume and tuning knobs, as well as the 7" touchscreen. It also lets you tune by voice by pushing a button on the steering wheel and saying "tune XM 8" or "tune FM 102.1" or any other band and channel/frequency. It is a very well thought out implementation.

The 2016 system works great, with Android Auto also it basically turns your base system into Nav capable ones, provided you have data plan to support it too(hello work phone). Google map based nav is superior to most OEM system I've seen anyway.
